Guide explaining, in understandable language how to disable 'cookies' on a users web-browser.

Instructions to disable cookies on a web browser depend on the browser. Most people have Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape and Safari as their web browsers. These instructions on disabling cookies refer to those web browsers

Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0

• Click on the tab tools located at the top of the window. A menu will appear

• Click on Internet Options from the menu that appeared.

• A window should appear and should have tabs like a 3 ring binder.

• Click on the tab labeled Privacy

• Information about what to do with cookies that want to be saved to your computer will appear.

• Choose the block option to disable cookies from being saved on your computer.

Firefox 2.0

• Click on the tab “tools” located at the top of the window. A menu will appear.

• Click on Internet Options from the menu that appeared.

• A window should appear and should have tabs like a 3 ring binder.

• Click on the tab labeled Privacy

• Uncheck the box that says “Accept cookies from sites” to disable cookies from being saved on your computer.

Safari

• Go to the top right Corner of the window there is a safari pull menu.

• Click on the safari pull down menu

• Move the arrow to select ‘preferences’ on the menu

• Click on the security tab

• Under accept cookies check the box marked “reject” to disable cookies on your browser.

There are many web browsers available to the public these are a few of the steps to disable cookies on these browsers
